SunMoon Adopts Cloud-Based eCommerce Solution For Global Expansion Singapore-based fresh produce distributor SunMoon Food Company Limited increased its productivity and saved S$20,000 (US$14,600) in five months by implementing Oracle’s NetSuite OneWorld solution, an eCommerce system by the cloud computing provider.

Prior to the implementation, the food distributor primarily used emails to correspond with its farmers, suppliers and customers for stock taking, order management, invoicing and billing. This required significant manual coordination and made it difficult for the company to track orders and compare quotes, greatly impacting productivity and the company’s growth potential.

In the duration of five months, the eCommerce system facilitated 900 transactions, and is used for financials, inventory and order management, financial consolidation across its three subsidiaries in China, Indonesia, and the US. Multicurrency transactions were also carried out in 11 different currencies across Asia Pacific.

Zakir Ahmed, general manager, Oracle NetSuite Asia, said: “With Asia Pacific accounting for nearly 60 percent of the global population, an efficient food supply chain and distribution network is even more critical here than anywhere else in the world.”
