Nestlé Launches ‘Incredible Burger’

Following the success of Beyond Meat’s $100M IPO, Nestlé is set to launch its own brand of vegan-friendly, plant-based burger patties. The Swiss powerhouse which already boasts brands such as Maggi, Coffee-Mate and Milo, will be expanding its product portfolio to tap into a trend that has taken over the world: environmentally-friendly vegan burgers.

Lauren Freixe, CEO of Nestlé Americas, predicts that the plant-based business will hit a sales high of USD $1 billion by the end of 2019. This is due to changing perceptions of what consumers constitute “healthy living”. Meat alternatives feature high amounts of protein, less preservatives and lower calories, thus ticking many ‘health goal’ boxes in one meal.

Nestlé’s newest launch will compete with other household names such as Beyond Meat and Quorn.
