Kerry Group To Acquire Ganeden To Expand Probiotic Portfolio, a nutrition and consumer foods group, will acquire Ganeden, a US-based technology company focussed on probiotics.

Based in Cleveland, US, the technology company focusses on patented probiotics and related technologies. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

The technology company currently has annual revenue of approximately US$25 million, and has more than 135 patents for technologies in the supplement, food, beverage, and nutrition markets. Its technologies will be extended into wider applications across the developed and developing markets of the nutrition and consumer foods group.

In 2015, the nutrition and consumer foods group invested US$735 million to acquire Biothera Inc’s ingredient Wellmune—a natural food, beverage and supplement ingredient that strengthens the immune system, Red Arrow products—a supplier of natural smoke flavours, and Island Oasis—a provider of all-natural cocktail mixes and customised beverage solutions.
