German Industrial Giants Join Forces To Share Expertise On Using Industry 4.0 Technology

The second Singapore Intelligent Manufacturing Conference will see industry influencers HARTING, ifm, igus and KUKA sharing their expertise on leveraging Industry 4.0 technology for flexible manufacturing in South East Asia. Those attending will get a real, practical insight on how to adopt Industry 4.0 thinking with the minimum of fuss and investment.

The free-to-attend conference will take place at The Chevrons on Friday 28 September 2018.  It will contain a mix of seminar sessions from subject experts, question and answer sessions and offer the benefit of networking and exchanging ideas with fellow engineering professionals. Germany is the birthplace of Industry 4.0 and it is timely that the four German industrial giants will be sharing their expertise at the conference.  As in Germany, Singapore’s manufacturing sector has to continuously develop technologically to tap into new opportunities like flexible manufacturing in order to stay competitive amid global economic headwinds and international competition.  Therefore, this conference is a major platform to gain knowledge on what can be done to harness the power of digital technology to shorten time-to-market cycle as well as to tap into the rising demand for customised manufacturing orders.

Subject matter experts from the four companies will cover a diverse range of topics.  Soeren Montag, Managing Director SEA & ANZ at HARTING Singapore, will give an insight into why the digital factory is crucial to flexible manufacturing. Luther Tan, Chainflex Product Manager ASEAN at igus Singapore, will talk about how to maximize the usage of smart plastics.  Robin Hoong, Regional Product Manager at ifm electronic, will use industry case studies to highlight the importance of using the latest sensors to capture information.  Martin Wenzel, CEO of Thailand/ASEAN at KUKA Industries, will present on the latest trends in human-robot collaboration, mobility and smart platforms.
