Azelis Announces Strategic Appointments Including Asia

Asia represents a significant growth for the company, and following a rapid growth trajectory in China and Japan in particular, the newly appointed CEO and president, CFO, COO, and addition to the Board of Directors will help better position the speciality chemicals distributor in Asia to serve its customers.

Laurent Nataf has been appointed chief executive officer and president for Asia Pacific, effective 1 August 2016, and will be based in Singapore. Mr Nataf previously served as the company’s group chief operating officer and a member for the company’s executive committee.

Anna Bertona, currently chief strategy and principal officer, will assume the role of chief operating officer EMEA, also effective 1 August 2016. She will steer the company’s market teams in the region with a particular focus on the company’s principal development activities.

Thijs Bakker will succeed Martin Hollenhorst as chief financial officer from September 2016, following Mr Hollenhorst’s retirement. Mr Bakker is currently the finance director Marine & Protective Coatings at AkzoNobel, based in Singapore.

Finally, joining the Board of Directors will be Michael J. Roney, formerly chief executive officer of Bunzl, an international distribution and outsourcing group. His expertise in distribution and extensive experience of expanding into new markets will greately help the company, commented Dr Hans Joachim Müller, chief executive officer of Azelis.

These positive developments will support the company as it looks to create value and expand further upon its position in speciality chemicals and innovative ingredients that serves the Pharma and Food & Health industries, and more.
